Since your household is selected and surveyed as a representative sample household, please take part in the survey with pride as a representative household of Korea.

※ A register-based census is a survey method that produces statistics on the population, households, and housing units by using public data such as resident register and building ledgers, without surveying all households nationwide.

  • Why don't enumerators go to the community center to obtain resident registration data instead of bothering respondents?

With resident registration data, only name, gender, and age can be obtained.

Therefore, the census should be conducted to collect information which is needed when making policies.

In particular, it's not possible to get data on sample survey items (economic activity, commuting, etc.) by using administrative data (e.g. resident registration data).

Therefore, field surveys must be carried out to collect practical data which is need for policy making.
